Bujua vs Screencastify

Screencastify is popular in schools, with questions, polls and LMS integrations. Bujua works for classrooms too, with captions and transcripts on every plan, and for teams beyond education.

The short answer

For schools that need LMS integrations, in-video questions and district admin controls, Screencastify is built for that, with Starter at $7 and Pro at $10 per user a month on annual billing. Bujua gives teachers captions, transcripts and summaries on every plan, comments on the exact second and viewer insights, and covers up to 10 recorders for $49 a month.

Switching from Screencastify

Most teams are done in an afternoon. You can run both side by side while people get used to it.

  1. Download your videos from Screencastify. Screencastify lets you download videos, and saves them to Google Drive on some plans.
  2. Upload them to Bujua. Drag in many files at once, or paste a direct file link. Titles come from the file names; transcripts and summaries are generated for you.
  3. Invite the people who record as creators. Everyone else joins as a free viewer, or just keeps using links.
  4. Share new videos from Bujua. Old links keep working where they are until you retire them.
