Camera, microphone and screen permissions

In the browser

1. Click the icon at the left of the address bar (a tune or lock icon).
2. Set Camera and Microphone to Allow.
3. Reload the page.

If the recorder says the camera is busy, another app (often a video call) is using it. Close it and try again.

On a Mac

macOS controls screen access separately. Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Screen & System Audio Recording, turn on your browser, and quit and reopen it. Camera and Microphone have their own entries on the same page.

Since macOS Sequoia, Chrome and Edge are asked to confirm screen access again about once a month. Click Allow; it’s expected.

On a work or school device

Administrators can block screen sharing. If the screen picker never appears, ask your IT team, or record with Camera only, which is rarely blocked.
